St. George's Bermuda

As one of the oldest English settlements in the Western Hemisphere, St. George's Bermuda is steeped in history. The first settlers landed in 1609. The town was founded in 1612 and boasts hundreds of years of fascinating stories and events. Its associated fortifications graphically illustrate the development of English military engineering from the 17th to the 20th century. In 2000 it became a UNESCO World Heritage site. The town is proud to share it's old world heritage offering tours and experiences that will take you back in time. Find out about African Diaspora Trail. DRIVE SLOWLY

Due to Repaving on York Street, traffic is redues to one lane heading in to St. Georges. Traffic coming out of town is being sent along Water. Please drive slowly as people are also walking along Water Street. This work is due to continue until 30th Nov. Park at Tiger Bay and then come enjoy the old town.
